Is MP3 the best?

Good day to everyone on the forum.  New member.  Can someone please tell me which is the best for burning my CDs to my PC?  I listen mainly to hiphop.  I wish to retain excellent audio quality as my car stereo can play MP3 or WMA.  As a newbie, I would also appreciate if you would tell me exactly what I need to get and where to get them.  Some of my CDs also have no gaps in between.

Thanks.

Compatibility: mp3
Gapless encoding: mpc, ogg, lossless
Best quality (filesize and hdd space not being an issue): lossless
Good quality (filesize and hdd space being an issue): mpc, ogg

If you go lossless you can use the lossless encodings to make mp3's for your car player or portable player, whilst having the best quality always available on your PC.

If you go lossless there's a slim chance years later you'll be switching back and forth between lossy formats which many people have previously did before realizing it's a never ending circle.

Edit: Since I don't use aac I didn't comment on it, I'll leave that to someone whom knows about the format.

If you have to choose between MP3 and WMA, go for MP3.
