RadLight 4 BETA 1 (build 1)

@jtclipper:

I've checked the log file but you did not select the non-working preferred filter
From the log file I can see that RL performed exactly as it was configured.

// - Group "Dolby AC3 Audio"
// - Filter "Moonlight Odio Dekoda"
// - Selected for subtype "{00002000-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}"
Code: [Select]
5:39:54 ìì : TINIWriter.ReadString - pGroup = Playback.MediaTypeGroups pItem = MediaTypeGroup2 pIdent = Name pDefault = MediaTypeGroup2 Value = Dolby AC3 Audio
5:39:54 ìì : TINIWriter.ReadString - pGroup = Playback.MediaTypeGroups pItem = MediaTypeGroup2 pIdent = Preferred pDefault =  Value = Moonlight Odio Dekoda|{E32C3B01-C81B-4D01-8AD4-2B93F7FA544C}
5:39:54 ìì : TINIWriter.ReadString - pGroup = Playback.MediaTypeGroups pItem = MediaTypeGroup2 pIdent = MajorType1.SubType0 pDefault = {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} Value = {00002000-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}

As you can see Moonlight was the first and only one (as previously selected)
Code: [Select]
5:40:05 ìì : RLGraphBuilder.RenderStream - FilterName=AVI Splitter; PinName=Stream 01
5:40:05 ìì :          RLGraphBuilder.CreatePreferredFilter
5:40:05 ìì :             Type : {73647561-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71} - {00002000-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
5:40:05 ìì :             Trying Filter : Name=Moonlight Odio Dekoda : Success
5:40:05 ìì :       Connected To Preferred Filter : FilterName=Moonlight Odio Dekoda; PinName=MPEG / AC-3 / LPCM in

Or you can try to disable the WaveOut.... it was indeed used and perhaps it's not the one for this situation

Code: [Select]
5:40:05 ìì : RLGraphBuilder.AddAudioRenderer - FilterName=Moonlight Odio Dekoda; PinName=PCM out
5:40:05 ìì : RLGraphBuilder.AddAudioRenderer - found more than 2 channels - trying Default WaveOut Device

Best,
Igor

Yes I did exactly that, I un installed re - installed the new beta, selected Monnlight as the codec I want to use left Direct sound and the check box 'use wave out' used rendered ver. 7 ( actually the defaults ).

I have to tell you that bsPlayer behaves correctly only when Direct sound is used.
I tried to disable wave out and I also tried all the available options to no avail.

Could it be a driver/hardware problem ?
Anyway hope you can eventually track this bug down, I know it is not easy when you do not have access to a problematic system but tell me what to do and I try to do it.

Oh Great.... finally the subs work for you

Yup, seemingly RL doesnt like the TTA-enabled MatroskaSplitter and/or illiminable's Ogg DS filters. I uninstalled them to test RL. That means TTA in MKV doesnt work anymore, but on the other hand FLAC in MKV is now working w RL too...

Btw, I posted something about containers/subs, but i guess HA is not the right place to discuss those things...right? Maybe Ill post in that doom9's thread next time. But let me comment on this one:

Martin told me that in some languages (namely the asian) wrapping at "incorrect point" could change the whole meaning of the sentence    ... really not sure.

Well, this is complicated but to make a long story short, an ordinary SPACE (U+0020) is, basically, a "breakable" point (i.e. you may safely change SPACE to Line Break if needed).  ordinary SPACE means SPACE that is not SSA's hard space \h (ie ordinary space, literally)

In Korean language, they put a SPACE between the word and the next word, like in English. In Chinese and Japanese, you should consider the "worst" possibility that there are no SPACEs at all between words/phrases. However, in many SSAs in Japanese language, there are SPACEs to separate words/phrases.

Well, as soon as we installed the latest MKV splitter (included in the latest LD-Anime pack), VobSubs stopped working. Later we found out that it's because the data output on the subtitle pins has been slightly modified. (without prior notice)    I really feel like making our own MKV splitter right now

BTW. You can easily select which OGM splitter should be used in RadLight (no need to uninstall). I would post a picture with more detailed instructions but we can't upload anything in this part of the forum.

Too bad RadLight can be used for both audio and video

Having a different matroska splitter for each audio/video player on the planet is quite senseless. Each will have their own bugs and features. Why not focus on one, and try to get it right ?
It's a 'Jump to Conclusions Mat'. You see, you have this mat, with different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO.

I don't know if you want a bug report here, but I don't really feel like registering at Radlight forums.

There is an avi I have, which as soon as it is enqueued in Radlight, Radlight freezes.  No crash logs, just a freeze.

It was hard to find out the offending file because I have a huge amount of media, and I would just enqueue a whole directory.  Then, some seconds later, when Radlight finally got around to getting more info on that file, the thing would hang.

Anyway, here is some info about the file:

Windows Explorer Reports:

macross_the_movie (1).avi
101,111,220 bytes

Image
Width: 704
Height: 416

Audio
Duration: 1:56:22
Bit Rate: 64kbps
Audio Sample size: 16 bit

Video
Frame rate: 25 fps
Data rate: 14kbps        <-----?
Video sample size: 24 bit
Video compression: DivX codec

bsplayer reports:
"File is Corrupted!  Seeking will be very slow.", then goes ahead and plays it perfectly.  (keeping it's promise about the slow seeking)

No other program (winamp, wmp, ati file player, realplayer, quicktime) will play the file.

But Radlight is the only one that doesn't handle it gracefully somehow.

Why? Simply because we want to give our users a working MKV support and because we don't have time to change half of the code every time a new version of the official splitter gets released.

Igor is going to reply the rest of the posts soon.

Thanks for your time guys

Bug? RadLight doesn't uninstall cleanly & will mess up other players

RadLight 4's installer will register the extensions for APE, MusePack, OptimFrog, and TTA in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\Descriptions
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\MUIDescriptions
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Extensions\Types

However, those entries are not deleted when you unintall RadLight. As a result, WMP's OpenFile common dialogbox will be messed up: it will show those extensions in the "Files of type" field, like "Monkey Audio File (*.ape)"; they are in the OpenFile box, but actually the player cannot open them, because the DSFilters are already unregistered and deleted.

If I understand correctly, that happens because RadLight's uninstaller doesnt do a clean job.  I observed the same problem with a standalone installer for DSFilter, such as RadLightTTA_1.0.0.0.exe. It will write new values in the registry, but will never delete them when uninstalled, bloating the registry with data that is needless and just will mess up other players.

I hope this behavior of the uninstaller will be fixed. Tyia.

Hey,

It has been a very long time since the last public release of RadLight.

Well, many RadLight forum regulars have asked us to release our work in progress and you know me, I just can't say no

So  here's the latest Nightly build (01/29/05)

Known issues :
  • the subtitle module has been removed due to instability (will be back in BETA 2)
  • you will have to manually remove the old settings.ini (Application data/RadLight/...) and create your own moduleset
  • the player may have problems playing back some MP4/AVC files - we're working on this

We try to release a new build every night - you can get them from the BETA releases forum

Best,
Martin
