freedb crash

does freedb crash?
my foobar beta 9 cannot reload the freedb site (with my personnal email), makes freeze the application, i need to ctrl+alt+del to desactivate my foobar (goin on 30 ram using +  80% cpu using in AMD athlon 1600+ )
here is my config
xp sp1 french
amd athlon 1700
256 ddr

nb : my firewall accepts the foobar requests.

Same has just been happening to me but I don't think it has anything to do with foobar. Its seem to be the fault of the default server: http://freedb.freedb.org/~cddb/cddb.cgi

Try: http://uk.freedb.org/~cddb/cddb.cgi for instance this works fine for me.

The problem is that the freedb plugin doesn't spawn a thread to do its query on, so foobar's GUI is locked until the main dialog box comes up. I've had this happen to me many times, usually when my school routes the http connection to the "login" screen rather than the freedb.org connection.

It would be very nice to have a threaded solution here, with a little dialog box that shows the current progress, so we can cancel if there's a lockup like that.
