Per file equalization plugin?

Can someone tell me if there is an equalization plugin that can be able to write the EQ setting in the song metada and when it finds that metadata written in the file, it will use the applied EQ. It would be really awesome if Foobar could automatically adjust the EQ for every song that way. If it's something that just doesn't exists because it's impossible to develop, I'm really sorry, but I'm not used with that stuff, I'm just an end-user.

As far as I know, such a thing does not exist.

What you CAN do, is "permanently" adjust the EQ for each file with an audio editor.  If you don't already have an audio editor, Audacity is FREE.



A couple of notes - 

- After applying EQ, it's a good idea to normalize (set the peaks to 0dB) before saving, especially if you boost any frequencies with EQ.  Many formats are limited to 0dB and your digital-to-analog converter is limited to 0dB.  If you try to go over 0dB you'll potentially get clipping (distortion).  (If you use Audacity, the Amplify effect will automatically default to whatever volume change (up or down) that's required for 0dB peaks.

- If you edit an MP3, AAC or other lossy-compressed file, the file will be decompressed before editing.  If you re-save in a lossy format, you are going through a 2nd lossy compression step.  You may not notice any quality loss, but it's something to be aware of.  Ideally, if you want a lossy compressed format such as MP3 you should edit the lossless original and compress once as the final step after editing.

There isn't any "dynamic" equalizer component AFAIK, but there is a component that can automatically apply dsp chain presets on a per-track basis. A dsp chain preset could consist of nothing more than an equalizer, with the equalizer settings differentiated per preset. You can find the component here.

That said, I really don't see the necessity of changing equalizer settings per track (or "genre" presets for that matter). Surely your music library doesn't consist of recordings which require constant fiddling with an equalizer.
