[RECOMMENDING PROBLEMATIC COMPONENTS] From: Reliable Lyrics plugin

My recommendations based on trial and error:

- I prefer to download and install any many unsynced and synced lyrics as possible and embed both (if available) in my songs to reduce dependence on internet connectivity and flaky association dependencies
- I use foo_lyricsgrabber2 to grab as many lyrics as I can across many songs - this will only grab unsynced lyrics (at this point, LyricWiki is the best source to start with, and then run against the other sources separately)
- I use the maligned foo_uie_lyrics2 to find and embed synced lyrics, but this can only work on songs as they play, so I use foo_preview and play each song for only a few seconds (at least 10 seconds).  This component will crash many, many times as you cycle through your library, but once you get any synced lyrics stored in your tags, you won't need to run it much if ever again
- Once the above is done, I'll have stored as many lyrics as I can, and for regular display use I use Br3tt's WSH lyrics script http://pastebin.com/eVfJ2Ss8  (install foo_uie_wsh_panel_mod first, then import Br3tt's script in a WSH panel you create).

the end.  good luck!

i use foo_uie_lyrics2 quite reliably.
it has not crashed foobar on me in ages, although I never embed or save any lyrics.  in fact, I remove any embedded lyrics tags before playing them.
I also have the plugin set to search/download always, never store them locally [Save Scheme set to "Don't save"].
i'm always connected to the net so don't see a point in saving a bunch of txt or lrc files.

I personally use lyricgrabber2 and show them using a simple text display panel using the %lyrics% tag.
Don't remember which panel I'm using exactly as I have many installed and I don't know which panel is related to which component.

I don't get why lyricsgrabber2 makes foobar2000 crash. I haven't had a crash in ages, and I've been using this component for quite a while.

Now I just need some application to download and store them in tags. Any suggestions? thanks

An external application would be very nice too. Especially if it could run simultaneous searches to make the job go faster.
I'll see if I can find anything through Google.
