Thanks, this is great!  I've replaced my old Egoh panel with this one and I'm very happy with the result.

Have you considered adding some peak meter functionality as well?  For example, a peak meter bar (with variable thickness) as the first bar?  With some new spacing options (to separate the two two-channel display, or to show them as both going in the same direction, rather than in opposite directions from the center)?

You have to configure your UI_Columns layout as shown in the screenshot:

Would you consider writing a version for the default UI? Or is maintaining two versions a lot of work?

Bug:

Alignment bug.
The left panel is rotated by 270, the right is rotated by 90

In bars mode would it be possible to include an option to set a border around each bar. Actually border and border color.

This picture illustrates what I'm talking about. It's a screen shot from WMP11. They have a white border around the blue bars, and a baby blue border around the peaks.

Hi!

Really great plugin!

Some questions and suggentions

1) Transparent background:
How often does it refresh the background?
A option to refresh the background only once per second would be very nice and maybe reduce the CPU usage!

2) Pseudo transparent background:
Would it be possible to add an option to refresh automaticaly the background on every track change?

Bye

It does that.

If you use PanelUI and have some glitch when using this option. you have to change how you draw your CH Spectrum. Don't draw them in the "Main" layout if you going to draw them over another panel like track display.  Draw it in track display that you want them to be over instead.

Thanks, I didn't know that!
But does that not mean, that the panel will be refreshed every second?
How does the track display work?

I'm not sure what you meant.. but i will try to answer.

track display refresh what inside them depend on how you drew under what redraw types. If you don't use these at all, I think it will use // PerTrack for the whole panel.

$panel function only work in // PerTrack so your track display will draw spectrum only per track. and CH Spectrum will work on it own.

The current version can be downloaded from the official site: foo2k.chottu.net (at least I think it's the official one ).

Nice find, thanks. Yes, it seems to be the official site. The link was mentioned once in a previous readme, but is removed in the current release. I thought the link would point to some other application, so I never tried it.

Nice plugin. Thanks!

Just to report a bug: it don't work with DSP Move stereo to rear channels, everything disappears (I mean the spectrums). I am using version 0.14.

As I added to the first post of this thread, you can check http://foo2k.chottu.net for the most current version of the plugin, it might include a fix for your issue.

Version 0.16 doesn't fix it. I'll stay without this DSP. it's ok.
Is possible for it to use the system colors? I mean, if system is using a  theme or a color scheme it take that colors?

I don't know, I don't use any theme and can't be bothered to. You could try for yourself, right?

A request so? It didn't use the system color, you have to configrure it to the colors

It would be nice if the frequency tics would have a number display as well, so I know what frequency the tics represent... Or an option to set their position manually.

edit: both vertical and horizontal positions I mean - so I can set them to the top.

also a bug: the number you enter for freq/amp tics length is counted as both px and percentage at the same time. If it is set to 100, the tic will have full width/height. If it is set any lower, the number is interpreted as size in pixels.

People, I need some answer. I want to ask this for quite a while now, Sorry if sound like a dumb question cause I have no technical knowledge about it.

If I made channel spectrum to have only 1 bar for each channel. EX: add channel spectrum panel to CUI toolbar and configure it to rotate 90* barwidth 16 spacing 1 FFT 4096. Do I get a VU Meter? At first I don't think it is but I tried it side by side with the official VU Meter and uie_peakmeter_spectrum using RMS mode and it look nearly identical.

If yes ... A VU Meter with transparent background that I want for so long.. is just right under my nose!

UIE Vis Channel Spectrum v0.17.1
Released on 2008/05/02: Download link

What's new (Translated from Japanese using Google):
  • New SDK for compiling (VS2005 compiled, but I'm going out)
  • Add FFT mode (foobar2000 v0.9.5.2 more than required)
  • Gaussian function is the window to window and wave form is slightly improved (?).
  • This is the rectangular windows, so not too hot, v0.9.5.2 people into the new method is acceptable.
  • ColumnsUI layout that had to fall into the case was fixed

-----
Can someone explain what FFT mode new method (0.9.5.2) does different from the old method?
