LAME ACM?

Haven't got a response on the MP3-general list, so I thought I would try here...

The last time I looked at the LAME ACM interface, decoding was disabled (about 6 weeks ago). There have also been no change-log entries for the ACM decoder.

Encoding worked a treat, but it was a real bummer that I had to install the FHG ACM as well as the LAME ACM so I could get a working system. And I could never be quite sure which one of the two was actually doing the encoding!

I was very impressed with the LAME ACM, obviously quite a bit of work has gone into it.

But to my question... has decoding support now been added, and if not, are there any ideas when this would happen?

The reason that I am specifically asking about the ACM is that my target application only supports the ACM interface. I have spoken with the author, and he is flat not interested in developing a DX interface.

Very sad. I would have hoped he would want to keep up with the times.

Cheers,
MM.

We have no plan to support decoding soon.
This could change is someone submit a patch making decoding work in the ACM codec.

Hi I'm also interested in the lame.acm.

I'm trying to capture tv-shows realtime in XVID and mp3, as a kind of VCR. Often the show is deleted after we have watched it once.

I have used the FGH encoder until now, but would like to use lame.

Using version 3.96.1 or 3.97 either freezes the computer or produce a file with no sound.
Any help or advise is most welcome.

Thanks
Steen
