Suggested mode for
 title based replay gain:   K-10
 album based replay gain:   K-9
 title based clipping prev: K-15
 album based clipping prev: K-15

Last two setting only possible in plugins using K setting also for
non-replaygain modes.

Could someone explain why level adjustments are diffrent?

If you apply -auto 2wice the same will happen

because there's a minor display error in Replaygain: shows 0.01 dB too much in some cases

from here

I think your --listallreport will be the more accurate.

It's not rare though, this will always happen on the second replaygain pass peformed.

This is an ancient known bug. The values in the MPC file won't change, only the values displayed on the screen.

You're worrying about a 0.01dB error on a Replay Gain value?

No Neeeeeeeeeeed!

Cheers,
David.

I think it's just a rounding/truncating error when the dB values are calculated from the internal values. As (like Citay says) the dB display values are only "cosmetic" it doesn't affect the working, it just looks silly every time .

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

CiTay removed the "rare cases" from his old post & evereux's post it seems, how vain can you be!

For High Quality backups:

Ripper: Christoph Schmelnik's Digital Audio Copy - WinDAC
- Analog, SB Live
- Normalize 100%

Encoder: Xing X3Enc
-128kbps
-ID3v2 tags

I think this is serious trolling
Listing everything that will give you bad quality, with a header that says high quality

It might be some joke I don't get

Well "Ge" I can rip however I want to, I'm not telling anyone to use it,
1.- Analog, SB Live - Could be used because of problems with copy protected CD's
2.- Normalize 100% - I may like my music loud
3. - Encoder: Xing X3Enc -128kbps - I may have a slow system with low HDD space
4. - ID3v2 tags - ID3v1 cut names

Not that I care what you think anyway...

Bah!, If no one gets my little humor yet then I'll remove it

Offtopic: I don't think it's anything about not getting humor - it's just a newbie might come and see that and be misguided. We're all for teaching at HA and we know how people new to audio compression etc can easily be led down the wrong path.

Is this still an attempt at humour? Or a serious suggestion?

I preferred your first sig - at least it was obviously stupid - though WinDAC is certainly not the worst ripper.

It's probably best stick to serious suggestions, though silly suggestions are fine if they are obviously silly and noted as such. e.g. the "worst command line" thread.

Be careful with humour though - for newbies, the world is confusing enough!

Cheers,
David.
