“Decoding failure…Network not reachable” with Windows 7, network drive

Hi,
I am having problems listening to music files stored on my network using Foobar on my notebook. When I launch a file it plays for around 10 seconds then stops and I get this message:

Decoding failure at 0 : 10 : 996 (Network not reachable):

I am using Windows 7 Family premium connecting to an external HDD plugged into a NAS box supplied by my ISP. I tried with a friend's notebook and there is no problem.

This question has been asked before and was not resolved

The notebook is part of the Windows homegroup and the drive in question is mapped to it. I have no problem copying files to and from this notebook and the network is very much "reachable" The notebook is an Acer Aspire 722. I hope someone can help as this was my way of having a low-power method of listening to music through Foobar.

Thanks in advance,
Matt
