[v1.1.6 beta 1] ReplayGain scan of huge number of tracks crashes

Hi,

using foobar2000 v1.1.6 beta 1 on Windows 7 x64, it crashes while scanning ReplayGains for a large number of albums, say 10 000 tracks (FLAC only). The ReplayGain scan progesses but the ReplayGain progress window disappears suddenly. After that, I have to restart foobar before I can start ReplayGain scan again. Sometimes foobar crahes even giving the message Bad Allokation. Library Changes can not be saved.

This happens on two PCs, same software configuration; the one providing 2 GB RAM, the other 4 GB. We're not sure, how many tracks are needed to reproduce this behaviour. Something like 1000 tracks are handled very well. Only with higher numbers the ReplayGain scan stops.

Regards, LosMintos

Have you monitored memory usage during the scan? It’s already been reported that the new (liberu128) scanner uses excessive amounts of RAM (memory leak, perhaps).

Oh, thank you for providing the link. It seems, we have the same memory problem as reported there.

There's an ugly memory leak in the scanner that will be fixed for the next version. Unfortunately gone undetected in alpha testing as scanned libraries were only few thousand files in size.
