bitrate specification for mp4 container

Yet another problem I have encountered is that when I put my AAC-encoded stream into mp4 container (using mp4v2 library API), the bitrate shown by the player is 0 kbps, though it plays ok, and if the container is ADTS, it is also shown correctly. Does anyone have the idea what this could be?
