[bug] foo_masstag - Tagging - Manage Scripts - Add - Input data - size

Users warned that they may corrupt their data:
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...amp;oldid=19349

After seeing a limit when tagging, I changed to only input the %title% - values. But around line 1800 the line, i.e. the title  was still cut after pasting.

Maybe there is an easy fix with increasing the variable that holds the input, now it is ca 2^15 = 32768?

I used a spreadsheet to create test input. The calculations below do not include line feed or similiar.

50 char / line
50 char * 577 - 2 char = 28 848 char

100 char / line
100 char * 294 + 12 char = 29 412 char

[bug] foo_masstag - Tagging - Manage Scripts - Add - Input data - size

Remember that 100 chars a line = 102 chars per line! As on windows it takes two chars to perform a new line. So with that info = 30k limit for both calculations.

Also masstagger is no longer developed and it is suggested that you use the functions provided by the properties window.

Anyway what could you possibly be adding 30k of text for?

This has changed again, last version from 2008-11-29 has, among fixes, even one new feature.
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

Thanks for that I was not aware that the depreciated status of the component had been removed.

Thanks for that, I tried to equate them via x^2 but seems I had to fail. For everyone else, with last line without new line, the calc is
52 * 577 - 2 -2 = 30 000
102 * 294 + 12 = 30 000

Trying to do what the tool is named for: Masstagging :-)

As in original post: already on 1800 tracks it fails to add _only_ titles. But actually I was about to tag 14 600 files yesterday, and title stuff was only a test. There are much more fields than that.

With text tools I exported IDs of a set of tracks. I pasted these into a webform and retrieved tags. This tag list I pasted into the Input dialog. Very convinient - only size limit is a problem. Could this be fixed? Maybe it is very easy. I know several people that use the same tag-retrieval-webform and they would have a much better way to retag their files. Currently they use other software, some software for playing, some for masstagging. With fb2k they could have it all in one.

edited: remove section about not longer supported

Well the point about Properties dialog stands. "Automatically Fill Values" with "Source: Clipboard" should do the same without this limit.

Thanks for pointing again. Confirmed that it works with adding date to 14 300 files. Didn't try more so far.

In the dialogue one can see results, but there is no preview of the _changes_? This is a little feature I liked in foo_masstag. Long list with "no change" and then here and there one sees before / after.
