foobar's playback commands can be accessed by right-clicking the notification icon.

If the tray icon is "too small for you" then perhaps you need to increase your DPI using Windows system settings.

Hey, there is a very easy and nice way to do this without external programs!

All you need is foo_runcmd and some icons like these one http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/. (you have to convert them to .ico Format with a program like xnview or irfanview).

1. Next you have to make a folder with shortcuts in it.
2. Next edit the string the shortcuts points to like shown on the picture.
3. Edit the picture. Select the icons you downloaded.
4. Create a new taskbar. Rightclick on the new taskbar and remove the "checkboxes" "show title" and "show text".
5. This is how mine looks

Have fun!

If anyone finds other iconsets like the one mentioned above, please let me know!

You don't need foo_runcmd, there are many built in commandline parameters, like /play, /pause and so on. More here. (btw the correct syntax is /command:"Stop after current" for example and not /command:"Playback/Stop after current" as indicated by the wiki...)

Now all I need is some way of getting the icon to change based on the stop after current state... probably not possible I guess. If anyone figures it out let me know!

Hey,
Thanks, build-in switches work faster then the switches from foo_runcmd!

Tried to follow Schuft's instruction but i'm not fully understanding how to configure the path to the taskbar buttons for foobar, namely what to enter in 'Target' & 'Start In' field.

I get "C:\Program Files\foobar2000\components\foo_runcmd\play.ico"specified in the Target box is not valid.

Any advice how to configure this would be appreciated.

"Start in" can be empty, and AFAIK it doesn't matter.

"Target" needs to be your path to foobar2000 with the commandline argument you want.

And as tom pointed out above you don't even need the foo_runcmd component.

Thankyou for your reply. It's the 'Target' bit i don't understand.

I don't know how to form a path to the next, play & previous buttons or what a commandline argument is.If anyone can tell me exactly what to put in the Target box i'd be grateful.

"C:\Program Files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe" /next
"C:\Program Files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe" /play
"C:\Program Files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe" /previous
...
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

Wow,it works!!!Many thanks,Yirkha. That worked a treat.I wouldn't have had a clue which way the slashes pointed or that inverted commas were necessary in the path.
Thanks to shakey_snake too.i did away with foo_runcmd as you suggested.
Never had such quick, accurate replies in a forum before.
