Coloured (Underside & Topside) problems?

Posted this question before, but on threads where it was sort of offtopic, and wouldnt receive much attention.  Thought it should have its own thread.

Currently, I have used some Verbatims Pastels (Manufactured by TY), and some Nashua (Manufactured by Mitsui) coloured discs... and yes, they seem absolutely excellent.  I am wondering about the longevity of these discs because of the colour of them; currently I get no warm and fuzzy feeling from them - they feel "gimicky", and I feel like they are going to peg out in less than a year.  Anyone got any reasons / proof why they shouldn't / wouldn't, and are, in effect, no different from normal cdr's?  (I will be easily swayed)

Thanks!
