Windows Vista USB audio driver question

I have a JVC receiver hooked up to my pc via usb. It installs a USB audio driver in the Windows XP system when I turn on the receiver. This receiver was made before the release of Vista, so I know it doesn't support vista. Does vista have some kind of emulator for Windows Xp audio?

Windows Vista USB audio driver question

Darin, from the research I've done, JVC's USB audio driver for their receivers only work on Windows 2000/XP systems.

They haven't released a driver for Vista, and MicroSoft hasn't made one available either.

Some people have reported getting them to work partially with Vista by simply plugging them into the USB port of a Vista system, but they can only get standard L/R stereo audio.  5.1 to 7.1 audio doesn't work when used with a Vista system.

Looks like a specific USB audio driver is required to get the full audio capabilities under Vista.
