vorbis 24bit + audigy2 = ?

I've got an Audigy2 soundcard and according to Creative it supports 24bit 96kHz output.

BUT the vorbis plugin for winamp version 1.3 alpha gives me this warning when i change the output to 24bit:
Quote
It may resultu in error messges and/or degrade sound quality if used incorrectly.
And no, it *does*not* improve quality with Audigy cards.

I'm quite a noob... and it is not clear to me even though it might haven been postet several times in this forum.

so: does this warning refer to the audigy 2?

thx for answers!

It message was for Audigy1, but Audigy2 is supposed to support 24-bit.

Actually the Audigy1 supports 24bit, but only for the digital output (which I'm using for listening to music).
