TightVNC through SSH working internally, not via web.

Hi, I dunno if this is really the right forum to discuss this, but I found a Tightvnc question through Google on this forum and I guess I want to try my luck.

I'm having some trouble with my tightvnc setup.

I have a ssh-server on my Windows XP box, using cygwin.
I also have a tightvnc server on the same box.

My goal is to be able to connect to my tightvnc server through a ssh-tunnel that Putty creates.

Logging in and authenticating with SSH works fine, the tunnel seems to work fine since the whole procedure works if I try it from a computer on the same LAN.

It doesn't work if I try to connect to the tightvnc-server from OUTSIDE the LAN.

I don't know what the problem might be - since the SSH auth works and the tunnel establishes fine from the outside, too.
But when I try to connect with TightVNC viewer, I get "Can't connect to server" - and NOTHING in the logs on the tightvnc-server.

Since it's tunneled and the SSH auth works fine - it should be the exact same thing as when I tried inside the LAN, no?

What am I missing here?

Thanks for the help.
