v0.39a preferences quirk/question

In playlist you can change text color using first entry as opening tag and second as closing. Like this:

[%artist% - ]$if(%title%,[008000'['$abbr(%album%,25)[ #[%disc%/]$num(%tracknumber%,2)]'] ']%title%,%filename%)

  ic, tnx.

edit: is there a way to use some sort of 'tab' type alignement (in playlist) with cut, pad and padcut (so i can use ordinary fonts) ?
edit2: so far i got:
A71823$padcut($if(%title%,%title%,%filename%),30) $if(%artist%, . %artist%,) $if(%album%, . %album%,)  $if(%tracknumber%,- B41632$num(%tracknumber%,2),)
edit3: ok, this looks almost good without alignement:
5B5B5B$if(%tracknumber%,%title% ,%filename% ) $if(%artist%, - %artist%,) $if(%album%, - 5B5B5B/%album%/ ,)  $if(%tracknumber%,- 5B5B5B$num(%tracknumber%,2),)

NOTICE - cpu 0 didn't dump TLB, may be hung

Not yet... but I'd love it if there were. Most of the fixed-width fonts I've seen make foobar 2000 look more like Notepad than I'm comfortable facing! So far the best option I've found is the Onuava font available from DaFONT, scaled to 6 points. Let me know if you find a better one.

Edit: The line I am currently using is as follows:

    $if(%title%,$padcut(%artist%':' %title%,80),$padcut(%filename%,80))$padcut('('%date%';' %album% - %tracknumber%')',60)$if(%comment%,'['%genre%';' %comment%']','['%genre%']')

Which looks like this, in the playlist:

    01. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Carry On / Questions ____/column break/____ (1970; Déjà Vu - 01) ____/column break/____ [Volatile Folk; So Far Away]

ProFont, 8 points is a nice fixed-width font that looks nice at low sizes and that's what I use with foobar. Sheldon is also a good monospace font. Both of them are vailable from tobias-jung.de/seekingprofont.

wow, looks like this will turn into 'usefull and nice looking monospaced fonts' thread

-----------------------------------
nice catch M, seems it is almost not possible to find a good font on the web
http://smokeamiga.virtualave.net/foo_onuava.gif

playlist:
5B5B5B$padcut($if(%tracknumber%,%title% ,%filename% ),30) $if(%artist%, - %artist%,) $if(%album%, - 5B5B5B/%album%/ ,)  $if(%tracknumber%,- 5B5B5B$num(%tracknumber%,2),)

status bar:
$if(%album%,album: /%album%/,filename: %filename%)  '['%_foobar2000_version%']'

window title:
$if(%title%,title: %title%,filename: %filename%)$if(%artist%, -  artist: %artist%,)
-----------------------------------

btw, i found this font:
http://www.softwarerenovation.com/CrystalFont.aspx

edit:
other (mono) fonts that work well on my system:
- monospaced / bold / 9
- andale / regular / 9

this is my format string:
Code: [Select]
$padcut(%_playlist_number%., 4)$padcut($abbr($if(%artist%, %artist%, Unknown Artist), 20), 20)$padcut($if(%tracknumber%,'#'$num(%tracknumber%,2)' ',)$if(%title%,%title% ,%filename%)[%streamtitle%],40)$padcut($if(%album%,'['%album%',' $ext(%filepath%)']',) ,40)

For 10+ fixed width monospace fonts go to dafont.
