Wave editor needed

I want to rip a gapless CD to wav, find the breaks between the songs, split the wav and introduce fade in/out before encoding to MP3 as individual tracks.

Any recommendations?

TIA.

Cool Edit, Goldwave, SoundForge, Wavelab, any of those would do the trick, some are more expensive than others, a few have demo versions.

If it has to be gapless, use cool edit. The file will have to be split on1/75 sec frame boundaries and cool edit does this.

Even the very simple although effective wave editor integrated in EAC could do this job.

Quite right, Hanky, I've done the self same thing using EAC and it was fine.
