Dibrom\'s Rev.8 DLL for CDex/cool_lame

If there is anyone out there who is totally committed to using CDex with the Lame DLL and wants to use Dibrom's Rev.8 with the new --alt-presets, I can offer a VERY QUICK AND DIRTY solution!! It is NOT pretty, but it works. It maps to the QUALITY options as follows:

DON'T FORGET THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL RELEASE.

I just uploaded DLL Rev8b to rjamorim. Given that he is in Brazil, it should be up later in the day.

john33 and rjamorim:

Thanks for putting this stuff together and hosting it.  Just thought I should mention that

I'm going to be trying to implement more proper support for all of my different modes into the LAME.dll soon if I can, which should make things a little bit easier.

Dibrom,
You're very welcome, it's been fun. The integration into the DLL is really quite trivial, as you obviously know. The trick will be to get the changes to the CDex frontend, which I could also do, but I think it would be a lot easier if I had MSVC!

While we're talking, if you want a super friendly frontend for lame, how about an adaptation of oggdrop? It would be difficult to find something that is easier to use, and I am sure that a sensible number of options could be included.

Yeah, I agree.  The changes to the .dll aren't really difficult, its just getting the people who use the .dll to update their interface to fully support all the --alt-presets (mostly issues with the abr stuff).

Hrmm.. yeah this is a really good idea actually.  Alexander from the lame-dev list is also working on a cross-platform python based frontend for LAME which will be much more concise and easier to use than the current one.  He mentioned the ease of tying a GUI into what he is already doing, so I suggest we examine some of that work as well.  Perhaps we could have behavior similar to oggdrop but with a few other interface conventions and a more robust configuration screen.
