Looks more like purple-blue... But it looks nice...

It'll probably take a while to get used to though...

I use the base skin too...

This blue one looks better, but it makes the play list harder to read.

Yes, I'm not one of those skin-suffling-winamp-overloading-I-need-change-though-it-looks-horrible-so-I-rip-winamp-skinsection type of guys.

Neither am i, but it truly is simply so horrible .
I've been using the  METAMPmorphosis 2.1 skin for almost a week, just as comfortable as the original and more pleasent .

Tried to find it at winamp.com's skin section.

Is it a WA3 skin?

WA3, hell no ... You know what, i'll work on it, tomorrow or the day after the Winamp 2 skins section of my future site will be completed and i will provide a link. There will be around 40 high quality skins.

A colleague of mine made this - "An exercise in usability":

I love it. It's readable even at high resolutions, and it's not built to look like an exact replica of a Kenwood stereo or Darth Maul.

Woahh...
The Minimal Amp Skin is great...
I got a new default skin! Finally a skin, which is usable and doesn't look too bad!

I also use the base skin soley because WA2 will load up to 50% faster on my system by doing so, and of course since the buttons are easily readable without having to figure out someone's PhotoShop delights that got out of hand.

Copy and paste to address bar:
audio.web1000.com/skins wa2.htm

Here is my skin collection.
I shrunk it down to 21 skins, left only the very best.

Enjoy.

I went for the ultra simple style with this page .

OK fixed.
Press ctrl+F5 to refresh the page...

ahm, the "classic" skin is not pretty actually, but it's cool .

This is the skin I use:

The equalizer is kind of hard to use because there are no values listed but then again I don't use the eq so it doesn’t bother me. Although it is not shown in the above picture the playlist font is a nice blue color similar to Jan's skin.

This should work. (replace the space with %20).

Clean, good looking and usable. A must have for Fab Four fans ;-)
Wish MuchFx2 could be skinnable (at least easier than recompiling the plugin...).

How about my favorite "Blue Dawn v1.1"? Love the readability.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

If you want a nice, easy-read and good-looking skin for Winamp 2.x, I recommend Nucleo NLog v102 (yeah, it's not a new one):

You'll find it at Winamp Skins website (direct link)

I've added yaXamp by Razor to my skin collection. Great design. It's the last on the page (alphabetic order).
