Columns UI error message

I got Columns UI installed and working, but now I can't play any files. When I do, I get this error message:

"KS output error unable to find filter corresponding to selected device."

What can I do to fix it?

That actually sounds like a problem with the selected output (Kernel Streaming). Try switching to DirectSound or Wave Out.

That was it. Thanks! Why would that happen just because I used Columns UI though?
