Adaptec Vs. Nero Aspi

I originally posted this under the "CD-R and Audio Hardware" forum, but I thought I would also ask this question here. 

A real newbie question, which ASPI should I use.  I have nero 5.5 on my PC, if I install the Adaptec ASPI (4.71 - I have WinXP), will this mess anything up?  Which one is better, or are they about the same?  I think that I already have Nero ASPI on my PC but I've been having some troubles with EAC and I think the ASPI is the culprit.
