Abnormally high bitrates using LAME 3.90.3 APS

Using APS with LAME 3.90.3, a certain album is giving me bitrates around 250 kbps.  What is going on?

Are you encoding heavy, guitar-based music (hardcore, punkrock or metal) by any chance?
These genres tend to cause a bitrate bloat, due to a lot of high energy signals which fall into the SFB21 frequencies.

If you want to reduce the bitrate try either using 3.96.1 or --alt-preset standard -Y.

I'd rather use LAME 3.96.1 --preset standard insetad of using LAME 3.90.3 --alt-preset standard -Y
--alt-presets are there for a reason! These other switches DO NOT work better than it, trust me on this.
