Burn MP3 CD from fb2k 8.2

After searching, sounded like foo_burninate was the answer.  But discovered I already have(and use) this to create Audio CDs.

Is there a plug-in to create/burn an MP3 CD directly from foobar?

(  fb does everything else! why not)

TIA

edit: I realize this would be an impossible task:  Would have to create a temp directory; add mp3 files directly to this directory; convert non mp3 files b4 adding to the directory; burn the MP3 disk; delete the directory.

There is no a such plugin available. IMO there are a lot great programs to do that so there is no need for such plugin.

Yes, but haven't found one to take a (conveniently arranged) fb playlist to burn the MP3 CD.  Working from within the Win directory tree will take more time to retrieve and order 90 titles/cd.

But, I'll live with it.

Thanks for the answer.

You could use drag-and-drop to copy your foobar playlist items to a certain directory; try dragging files from foobar's playlist into a Windows Explorer window. If you use columns_ui, then you'll need to drag the files with the Control key held down. You could burn that directory easily, couldn't you?

You could also use the move/copy feature of the masstagger to copy your playlists to some directories. You can specify the target directory with TAGZ scripting, and you can even make use of the playlist name.

Why not just directly drag those playlist items from foobar into you burning app?

because it doesn't keep the playlist order (with nero anyway.)

Why would an MP3 CD keep the playlist order?

"because it doesn't keep the playlist order "

copy the files you want to temp dir(using drag-drop or whatever)
drag those to emplty pl
arrange to taste
use masstagger to autonumber
rename to # - artist - etc
burn

i guess masstager renamer cant use %_playlist_number% ?

I've just checked and Masstagger can't use %_playlist_number%

If you make a copy of the files before burning, you could just re-tracknumber your files with the masstagger before renaming. Or save the playlist as m3u, edit it with a text editor to make paths relative and burn it with the files.

Great ideas, sometimes the basic ideas are the best!  Thanks

The drag feature only partially works.  If I grab more than 10 titles it will not copy into an Explorer folder, or into the burning app (Plexwriter).  I'll try on the Nero cpu later, but expect the same as it appears to be a fb2k issue.

Returns "Error Copying File / X Cannot copy file / File system error (1026)"  Makes no difference to select only MP3 or only AAC, or both.

Problem is my files are not all within (what some would consider) logical directories.  5-10% are located within alternate directories.

I'll start with 10/copy.  Plase post if you have a solution.

edit: the number of files limit is random, sometimes 3 is too many.

Solution recap to error when dragging multiple files from fb2k into a Windows directory:

To copy all selected files in my playlist to a certain destination folder, change the Copy command at Preferences, Display, Title formatting to:
copy "%_path%" "D:\temp\%_filename_ext%"

Select the range of titles within fb2k, press Ctrl+C

Open Notepad.exe and press Ctrl+V.  Save file as fbcopy.bat. From within Windows Explorer select fbcopy.bat and it will proceed to copy all selected files to the D:\temp

how about a plug-in that simplifies all of this?

Yep, it will be cool but:

1) It can already be done (just by drag & drop to a explorer new folder and then drag the folder content into your CD burner).

2) You'll need a developper to be interested in that.

3) What burner tool to use? I'll prefer something that doesn't relies on the installation of another program (like the nero CD burner plugin) because then, I'll use the program itself  Something build around cdrtools could be cool.
