Position at Apple for Audio Codec/Algorithm Eng

Job Description for Audio Codec Algorithm Engineer/Scientist

You will be a key technical contributor to Apple's audio codec development. With the success of Apple products such as iTunes, iPod, QuickTime, we are continuing to develop the state-of-the-art audio codec - MPEG AAC (Advanced Audio Coding). Apple's AAC codec is already ranked at the top on the market and you will be part of a highly motivated team to continue advancing this exciting technology.

- MS/PhD in the field of Digital Signal Processing.
- 5+ years of experience at senior engineer level of audio codec development.

Must have a profound knowledge of psychoacoustics models, solid background and experience exploiting characteristics of human perception in developing audio coding algorithms. The following qualifications are also required:

- Detailed knowledge of AAC algorithms or other psycho-acoustic based audio codecs
- Audio signal analysis and subjective/objective quality assessment.
- Excellent coding skills in c, c++.
- Experience at real time implementation and writing low level optimization code.
