Converter + "ReplayGain scan checked" = doesnt calculate RG peaks

When I convert an album with the option to also  scan and write replaygain info, foobar2000 calculates RG info (track/album), but doesnt calculate any peak values.

If I manually scan the album for Replaygain info w/o using converter, foobar also calculates the peak values.

Is this by design?

This depends on the format. For instance, Opus doesn't store the peak values, only the gain offsets.

Yep, and probably in my OP I manually checked  it on the not  yet converted to opus files.
Thanks for the answer kode54!
