Is it posibble to use WebP format for artwork in foobar2000?

WebP is google's picture format designed for web usage, which has a very good compression ratio in both lossless and lossy. Is it posibble for foobar2000 to use webp format at least in the Spider Monkey Panel ? If I am not wrong, it still needs foobar2000 to build-in the decoder, right?

foobar2000 doesn't need to support image format for third parties to use it. But using WebP makes very little sense unless you don't care about compatibility.

Well, yes. What I mean is , maybe those plugings still use the foobar2000 build-in function to get the artwork. ( I am not sure)
And What I want to know is can webp supporting  be easily to realize? For example, how does foobar2000 decode the png, bmp, and jpg (in Windows). May be a WIC-enable decoder can do this? I have no idea. ( sorry for my English)
