Winamps new "RATING WINAMP" ID3v2 tag

Hi,

the lastest Winamp Versions write an  ID3v2 tag called "RATING WINAMP" when I rate new songs (or re-rate old ones).
Unfortunately I can't find a way to access this Tag with foobar. I add a new custom column "rating2 = %RATING WINAMP%" but it only shows a "?".

When I manuipulate "RATING WINAMP" with QickTagger, a second tag with the same Name gets created (instead of the first one being changed). I verified that using the tool "mp3tag".
This second Tag will show up in my custom column "rating2", just as expected.

Winamp will always update the Tag created by Winamp.
Foobar will always update the Tag created by foobar.
Both tags are called "RATING WINAMP".
Both Tags can be changed with mp3tag.

To make things mor complicated:
When I use mp3tag to delete the tag created by winamp, then only the value will be deleted. (RATING WINAMP is still there, but has no value assigned).
When I use mp3tag to delete the tag created by foobar, then the whole TAG will be gone (including the value that was assigned).

I guess both Tags are of a different type?!? Maybe thats what confuses foobar (OK, its probably me who's confused).

Does anyone see a way I could access Winamp's Tag in foobar (and QuickTagger).

Thanks

Winamp writes rating to POPM (popularimeter) id3v2.3 frame.
foobar2000 (playback statistics component) writes rating to custom tag.

Winamp does not support custom tags and foobar2000 does not support POPM frame.

POPM frame contain email address (rating@winamp.com for example), rating value (1-255) and (optionally) play counter value. Problem is... different applications writes different email address and rating value (for example for 4 star rating Winamp writes value 196).

BTW
Whereas should not be these problems with Vorbis comment (used in OGG Vorbis, FLAC, Speex) and APEv2 (used in Musepack, Monkey's Audio, WavPack, OptimFROG).

[a href='index.php?act=findpost&pid=657233']I documented how that tag is supported by WMP[/a] ages ago, but it seems no headway was made toward supporting it.
