Req: Mouse event plugin

I hope I'm not posting in the wrong section. Was going to post in the Development section first, then refrained since I'm no developer and this is just an earnest request.

Subsequent to my discussion here, I am led to believe that there's no plugin out there that does what I'm looking for, which is quite surprising to be perfectly honest.

What I am looking for is a mouse event (not gesture) plugin, that will capture mouse events only while foobar's window is focused, and translate them to keyboard events/shortcuts that foobar can already understand. Ideally this sort of functionality should be built-in, such that similar to assigning keyboard shortcuts to events, I should be able to assign mouse clicks or mouse click combos or mouse click+keyboard combos to events as well.

I'm hoping someone can tell me whether this would be very difficult to achieve? If not, would some kind soul consent to take it up and create said component? I'm sure it would be really handy, and lots of people would benefit from the same once they get a chance to check out what it can do and how powerful it can be.

Thanks a lot for reading and especially for any positive responses or suggestions.
