Replaygain not being applied during playback

Hi All,

I'm having some trouble with playback of mp3-referenced cue files... basically it appears that the ReplayGain info stored in the referenced mp3 is not being applied when playing it via the cue sheet - i.e., playback is noticeably louder than simply playing the single mp3 (for which foobar correctly applies ReplayGain).  I don't recall having this problem with previous versions of foobar.  My understanding up to now was that ReplayGain info needn't be in the cue file, so long as the referenced audio file has RG values.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  FYI my foobar prefs are album mode / apply gain, and for reference I've pasted the properties of both the mp3 and the referencing cue sheet in the codeboxes below.

Thanks,
RS

You could load the .cue file into Foobar2000, then apply Replaygain. It will of course save the values in the .cue file.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm aware that RG values can be added to cue sheets, however the current playback behavior (i.e., ignoring the referenced file's RG) only seems to have happened as of a recent version.  Previously when I'd play a cue sheet, the output would be adjusted to the reference file's RG.

Can anyone confirm this behavior on their foobar setup?

Wow, thanks.  Guess this behavior goes back a lot further than I remember.  Looks like I'll be scanning a whole bunch of cues!
