Changing high frequency perception

I've noticed incremental changes in my high frequency (12 kHz and above) perception over the last 2 1/2 years.  On the same speaker systems, recordings that I've mixed seem less bright than before.  Music in general sounds less bright (and actually more pleasing to my ears) on my car stereo system after several years of experiencing the high frequencies to be annoyingly accentuated.  The Sennheiser HD600's, which I've had for a year, no longer have the annoying high frequency accentuation as well.  I don't believe my ears have broken in.  I simply cannot experience the headphones in the same way as when I got them.

I've been examined by two doctors, who, after looking at my hearing tests, kind of laugh at me.  Their tests only go up to 8 kHz, so there are no documented measurable differences over the last 4 years.  Furthermore, I can still hear the highest frequency I could hear before I noticed the change in my hearing.  There's no wax buildup, so it looks like there's not much I could do.  I still enjoy the sound of music, but this change is disheartening.  Does anyone have any information that could be of help?

You might look at this. Whether is can really accomplish anything or not I don’t know, but claims are made. Tinnitus treatment may be highlighted but a little investigation will show you other aspects of hearing are supposedly improved.

It is based on Tomatis principles, but is a less expensive, at home, approach. Tomatis clinics, if you can afford them, are found in many countries.

You do know that everyone loses higher frequency hearing as they age, like it or not? Louder sounds, music, noise, any category, accelerates the process.
