About RapidShare and other file hosting services

Thank you for the upload, but in the future would you consider using a different upload service that does not enforce a countdown timer for users who do not want to purchase an account, such as MediaFire?

Yes, there's no point in using RS from a Premium user's POV, as you don't get any RapidPoints when someone download what've uploaded anymore.
And it's very annoying to wait, and the speed isn't that great either, for free users.

As of July 1, 2010 RapidShare's RapidPoints programme will be discontinued. This decision by the company is a reaction to claims that the reward programme rewards the uploading of contents that are protected by copyright.

Some may find it amusing to wait several hours between downloads, not me.
Torrent is the way to go for big files.

Sorry for OT.

@Yirkha: Thanks for the split. (not sarcastic; it actually makes more sense to do it this way)
@KarnEvil9: Requiring an addon to make using a filehosting service bearable is not a valid solution.

First, we weren't talking about waiting several hours between downloads.  First of all, RapidShare doesn't do that.  Second, it was a single, small download, that probably required you to wait 30 seconds.

I find it ironic that one person goes out of their way to upload and provide a free download, while someone else goes out of their way to offer a way to make downloads on that site more automatic, and all people can do is bitch.

What's the old saying about looking a gift horse in the mouth?
