Properties page using sample length to calculate info

I'm kind of embarrass but I just found out that "General" info in properties page like Codec, Encoding, Tool, etc .. seem to use sample length to calculate info instead of files count.

Ex: Selected 10 MP3 file, each 3:00 min in length and a 30 min FLAC file, I was expect to see ~90% MP3 and ~10% FLAC in Codec info but instead, the results was 50% for both.

I don't really have a problem with it but it was a bit unexpected to me..

Is this behavior a good idea? Desirable? Your thought..

i think length is the right way to go. the only time i ever look at these percentages is when looking at the properties of my whole collection so in that context i think it makes sense.

Not if you're talking about codecs; those only make sense on a per-file basis.
