Strange Inconsistency with Alphabetization (searching for fix)

So I have found a discrepancy between the way Album List and the way Playlists order albums alphabetically, when they are by the same artists and during the same year.

I have a screenshot here that explains it best, I think:

I add three spaces after %album% in the sort to fix the problem your describing.

As for the date, I use YYYY-MM-DD in %date%.  If you only want to display the year, use $left(%date%,4)
