Album List Amendment

Hi

In the default album list GUI element, when viewing by album, all entries without metadata are displayed by a "?" followed by the artist (? - [artist]) and in the Artist/Album view by the opposite (artist - ?).

I don't want to see these entries, as they are generally individual tracks not in any album collection, and they take up a lot of space in the list before scrolling down to the eventual proper albums.

Is it possible to amend the album list syntax in the properties to prevent entries without this specific metadata (i.e. blank or null) being displayed?

Cheers,

Matt

All album list views (except for "by Directory") can be edited by going to the Album list preferences page and adjusting the title formatting strings.

Without knowing the specifics of your tagging schemes I'm afraid I can't be more of a help.

I've got two tags that are on all the files: %artist% and %title%.

I've also got the %album% tag set for some files where I have the entire album and want to play them as an album.  However, the majority of my files have no %album% tag at all.

Therefore, with the default setting (%album%[ '['%album artist%']']|[[%discnumber%.]%tracknumber%. ][%track artist% - ]%title%), the album list displays hundreds of entries at the top in the format:

? - [artistname]

I have to scroll right through all the ? entries to get to my actual albums starting with A. So what I'm after is a way to prevent the album list displaying ANY entry that has no %album% tag, hance getting rid of the entries marked with a ?....

Hope that makes sense...

Try this:
Quote
$if(%album%,[$stripprefix(%album artist%) - ]['['%date%']' ]%album%,zzz--No Album tag|$stripprefix(%album artist%))|[[%discnumber%.]%tracknumber% ][%track artist% - ]%title%
