Infinity SM Video center channel cutting out - how to clean?

I've had the Infinity SM Video center channel for at least 12 years. It's been cutting in and out on me for almost a year now - If I turn the volume up on my receiver, the center channel kicks in. I just recently noticed that if I tap on either of the woofers, the sound will kick back in (without me needing to turn the volume up - this great news as I thought I needed to replace my receiver which is why I dealt with this issue for so long). I love the speaker (I have SMs all around) and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. I've read that it may be a bad connection since it cuts back in when I turn the volume up. Any thoughts on how to clean? I read Deoxit works best for cleaning the quick connects used. Any ideas on how to clean the crossover?

-- I checked the crossover and I didn't see any burned caps -- all wires also appear to be in tact with soldering not lose -- Didn't notice any other flaws --- I hope it's a cleaning issue. Any thoughts or recommendations will be appreciated.
