FLAC 24/96/6ch to FLAC 16/44,1/2ch

Hi !

I have an album in FLAC with this proprities :

Channels : 6
Sample Rate 96 KHz;
Sample Size 24 bit

And I would like get this :

Channels : 2 stereo
Sample Rate 44,1 KHz;
Sample Size 16 bit

Is that possible ? 'cause this album comes from a DVD-A, but once it's extracted, the total size is up to 3,4 Go !!

Thank you for you help

3.4 GB? That's the whole point of an Audio DVD.

Foobar2000 can do both downmixing and resampling. Call up preferences, add the respective DSPs to the processing chain. Then load your files in the playlist, select them and choose "Convert", tick the box called "DSP processing", and choose the output format.

If you're gonna be listening on a computer, you may want to keep the audio as 48 kHz, 24-bit. The parameters you indicated are only desirable if you're gonna create an audio CD.

Supposedly better quality. Most resamplers are transparent to me and I have not bothered to research what this parameter really means. Downsampling exactly by 2 should not require complex tools.

It has been said that SSRC provides better quality, but again I don't think it matters in this case.

So i can let it disabled for resampling 96 to 48 kHz. ok

But after all, i will keep the original DVD-A too, i discovered something great, the sound is...  uncomparable !
