file operation: delete folder?

in the playlist context menu, there is the option 'file operations'-->'delete file'. any way to add the option 'delete folder'? it would be nice for when you want to remove a whole album from your drive and remove it from the library in one step.

You can do that by selecting all tracks of the album and using "Delete File(s)". A command to delete the containing folder and all files within it has too much potential for collateral damage IMO.

yeah but my whole point was that if i select all the tracks in the directory and 'delete files', then i still have to manually go into the parent directory and  delete the folder. obviously not a huge deal, but foobar is all about customization, so i thought maybe there was a way to do it.

You can use the "Move" command to move files to the recycle bin. That will delete the files and the containing folder.

Save it as a preset and you are good to go.

You can't just move a folder or file to the Recycler folder. Deleting files to the Recycling Bin is more complicated than that and that's why we do need a separate "delete whole folder" command. Unfortunately foosion seems to think we're to stupid for that.

The command deletes the folder the files are on. IF the folder gets empty that is. If there is, for example album art files in the folder, then the folder won't get deleted, granted that.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I too think it would be to dangerous. Having one misplaced file could erase e.g. the whole program files folder.

Or, really worst, the whole music library folder!!!

I don't think it would be hard to display a confirmation window(just like the "delete file(s)" function has) in which to display the full path of the folder to be deleted, so you'll know what you delete.

Yes, and the whole point of this was to avoid switching to windows expolrer...

...then the thread description is misleading.

Having the option to delete files makes sense because they
can be scattered in different folders and subfolders, but directories
are pretty straight forward: Right Click > Delete.
