equalizer distortion

Since I've switched to 0.9 I get a lot of distortion when I use the equalizer at the levels I previously used (quite high, but they were perfectly fine in 0.8). Anyway, the only "fix" I came up with was to use the advanced limiter. Is there anything else I can do?

Try only using the equaliser to attentuate (lower in volume) frequency bands, as I believe is generally recommended. A quick fix is to use the "Auto level" button.

I still have this problem. It does not seem to follow the music but it seems to be just added static during certain parts of a song. If I pause and restart it is not there but then seems to come back after some playing (like a buffer fills up, etc). Any other thoughts?

update soundcard drivers.
I am arrogant and I can afford it because I deliver.

Using two seperate ASIO drivers and both behave the same. This does not happen with 0.8 version of foobar. Reinstalled .9 too and cleane dout all DSPs. The distortion is similar to an overdriven CPU but I am looking at its utilization and it is not at 100%. So, not sure. It behaves as described above. Generally, in same areas of somg but if I stop and restart it goes away only to come back a but later.

Does this also happen with direct sound output?
