Multichannel AC3 and DTS bitstreams play fine via either the Realtek High Definition Audio (S/PDIF) or Realtek HDMI outputs  to a decoding AVR. But in neither case does the F2K seekbar move.  Whiuch means nothing else plays when the track is done.

THe thing is I'm pretty sure it USED to move -- I've been playhing back AC3/DTS on my old (XP) and new (Vista) laptops for awhile ....today I installed Vista Service Pak 2  and a Microsoft Office 2007 trial -- is it possible one of these somehow disabled it?

Also, the seekbar DOES move when the AC3/DTS files are played using 'Null Output'...but this output disallows FLAC playback.

These are 48kHz .ac3 files (or .dts files) , and the option to convert 44.1 kHz ac3 to 48kHz is unchecked.  WaveOut vs Directsound makes no difference. The output info bar at the bottom of f2k shows 48kHz. and the correct number of channels. 16 vs 24 F2k output make no differences, nor does setting the so48undcard output to different format (e.g. 2 ch 48 kHz 16 bit, the defaulk, vs some other SR/bit depth)

Tried a clean uninstall/reinstall of f2k, no improvement.

Any fix for this? If worse comes to worst, is there any way to de-install SP2 short of complete OS reinstall??
