foo_dts: transcode dts-->ogg vorbis

Hi folks,

I recently tried to transcode a 6 channel dts file to a multichannel ogg vorbis file using the diskwriter plugin. Anyhow, the channels are strangely swaped e.g. center becomes right channel. The dts file plays perfectly in foobar. There were no special options in the diskwriter plugin concerning multichannel sound. Thus, I don't know what I did wrong.

Any Suggestions?

TIA,

Chris

Just Another Addition:

The Same thing occurs when I transcode the files with aac (mp4). Really strange.

Additionally, when I transcode an ac3 file I got the channels are in the right order.

It would be very nice if someone could try to transcode a dts file on his own. This should reveal whether this is a general behaviour are just a wrong configuration.

Sounds like the codecs are not following the standard for multchannel audio.  Not sure if AAC supports it since I don't use the codec.  Maybe one of the resident experts will have a better reply.

Well, acctually I don't think so, because the dts file plays perfectly in foobar. Also, when I transcode other sources like ac3 multichannel into ogg and aac the channels stay in the right order. I rather believe that the problem lies in the interface between the dts output signal and the diskwriter plugin.

Ok, after searching a little bit more, I found out that I used obviously an old version of foo_dts. I got it from ssunalahti allthought it was included in the special installer . Anyway, I was a little bit surprised that the sound was a little bit different - The rear channels had less volume. Anyone knows where to get a test sample to adjust levels properly?
