Qs about MP3 editor and cue files

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong part of the forum.

How do I create my own CUE file? I don't know the format. I had mistakenly ripped one of my CDs with a 2-second silence (pregap) at the end of each track (each track is a separate mp3 file). I have the files and the m3u playlist file. I was wondering if I could save a CUE playlist in Winamp or Foobar and then manually edit each entry in Notepad or something.

Is there a lossless editor of MP3 files where I can remove the last two seconds of each file in a batch process? I've heard that MP3 file editors do not work in lossless formats, MP3 is converted to WAV for editing and back to MP3... hence not being lossless.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if there's a way to do this in a batch process.
But your wrong about there not being non-destructive mp3 editors.  See this [a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=30049&view=findpost&p=259678]thread[/url].

I've personally used mp3splt many times and have so far found no issues for what I've been doing with it.

foo_cuesheetcreator for foobar will create a cuesheet from a playlist.  Make sure you download 0.3.4.

I don't really know how useful it is going to be in your situation though.  Why do you need a cuesheet?

A cuesheet can tell you at what position  to start playing a file, but not stop.

thanks SSoul, I was thinking of creating a CUE playlist and then manually decreasing the starting time by 2 seconds (incrementally) for each succeeding track to remove the pregap. I am obviously new at this... I don't know if this'll work.

The easy solution is to re-rip the cd.

I'm afraid it won't.

If you had one image file this could work, but as each track is separate the index (1) point for each track will be 00:00:00 - so you can't remove 2 seconds.

Edit: actually I shouldn't have mentioned foo_cuesheetcreator as it creates a cuesheet assuming all tracks are from one file.  To create a cuesheet for individual tracks you can try my recommendation here - but as I say, I don't believe it is actually going to help your current situation.  Sorry.
