Problems On Wikipedia

I'd personally prefered solve the problem myself, but I'm not familiar at all with WikiPedia.

Today I've browsed the growing encyclopedia, and see an WARNING on the WavPack article. Someone has contested the neutrality of this test, which is in my opinion perfectly acceptable:

Quote
WavPack is a free lossless audio compression format.

WavPack allows you to compress (and restore) both 16 and 24-bit audio files in the .WAV format. Like other lossless compression schemes the data reduction varies with the source, but it is generally between 25% and 50% for typical popular music and somewhat better than that for classical music and other sources with greater dynamic range.

WavPack also incorporates a unique "hybrid" mode that provides all the advantages of lossless compression with an additional bonus. Instead of creating a single file, this mode creates both a relatively small, high-quality lossy file that can be used all by itself, and a "correction" file that (when combined with the lossy file) provides full lossless restoration. For some users this means never having to choose between lossless and lossy compression!

WavPack is completely open source, released under a BSD-ish license.

Someone, named Markaci, object to the neutrality of this text:

The article begs for some criticism. I've never used this format, so I don't feel comfortable adding anything. Markaci 01:39, 2005 Jan 24 (UTC

I fear that I don't understand what he said.

Could someone do something to solve this inequitable situation?
Wavpack Hybrid: one encoder for all scenarios
WavPack -c4.5hx6 (44100Hz & 48000Hz) ≈ 390 kbps + correction file
WavPack -c4hx6 (96000Hz) ≈ 768 kbps + correction file
WavPack -h (SACD & DSD) ≈ 2400 kbps at 2.8224 MHz

From what I understand, the guy is complaining that there is nothing bad being said (there's nothing bad to say about it, MOF) about WavPack so the article is biased :B

Edit: Actually, that text was a verbatim copy of the [a href="http://www.wavpack.com/397/index.htm]old WavPack page. I'm working on improving it now.

From what i've read about wavpack, isn't it that the only bad thing to say about it is that no hardware support does exist (yet)?  (although the format itself almost begs for being used on portables).
I am arrogant and I can afford it because I deliver.

Ah, good point.

Although there is hope that the Rockbox team [a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=27390&view=findpost&p=272907]will add WavPack support to their unofficial firmware to iRiver players, including encoding support!

Yup, thats why i added a "(yet)" to that point :-) That should definatelly be a motivation-boost for the wavpack people to not just get decoding but even ENcoding. And IMHO they deserve it.

I completely agree

I just added lots of content to the Wikipedia entry. If you guys see some error/inaccuracy or something missing, please mention (or fix).

I think it's somewhat worrying when wikipedia articles are longer (and better) than their HA-wiki counterparts.
"To understand me, you'll have to swallow a world." Or maybe your words.

Thanks for pointing that out. I pretty much copied the Wikipedia article to the HA wiki. Shouldn't be a problem since I wrote most of it, and the parts not written by me were directly lifted from David's site.
