A program to trim mp3s...

Is there one?

It would be rather useful to be able to remove the unnecessary samples from the beginning in case you can still hear the gap even with FB2K's Gap Killer on.

TIA

I know of no program to do it, but I think in the LAME/XING tag there is a field for the number of samples to skip in the first and last frames. Combine that with a program to trim on frame boundaries, and foobar can start playback anywhere.

I don't know how one can automate this, but it is technically possible.

Thanks.

And then, another question: How many samples does a frame consist of?

Thanks, but I was aware of that. My starting point, actually. A workaround would be nice, if possible at all.

As far as it is claimed 'Fix MP3 header' is able to remove samples from the beginning/end of a track, that's ma point.

'From the beginning' only means the encoder delay, as far as I know and as far as Fix MP3 Header is concerned. Probably I should ask the FB2k community about that.
