I tried to get on EFNET the other day. I am using HydraIRC client. I couldn't seem to get rolling. Do I need to set up an account with a server?
Sorry for the noob IRC question.

No account needed. Does it give an error message?

Thanks, I just needed to be more persistent. The first couple of servers seemed to need an account or password.
irc.umich.edu gave me access just fine.
