What exactly means RG track peak?

I know that when I RG some audio track with Foobar2000, it stores infos about track and album gains and peaks, I know that gain is the difference between the original track and the ReplayGained track at 89db, but what about peaks? How can I see what's the mean volume of a track? I've read that a good track must have at least 10db or more of headroom for dynamics (it's volume has to be -10db or less) but new albums have usually 5-6db for headroom or less and that means that they lose their dynamics. How can I see what's the headroom for dynamics that a track has? Sorry for the stupid question...

rg-peak as far as i know is the highest "spike" in an album or track. It is used by fb2k to avoid clipping(if this highest peak exceeds max. volume after applying replaygain, then the volume of the track/albums is scaled down just enough to avoid clipping)

Sorry, i dont know more info about that.
