Nero 6.0 Encoding iTunes Decoding

Hi everyone again

I've been having a weird problem while encoding in aac format (VBR 160-250 kb/s LC) using nero and playing it back in iTunes. If I play the encoded file in the Nero audio editor I get a pretty good quality but if I play it back in iTunes the file seems to lose quality (The sound you get is similar as if you were playing an mp3 pro in an mp3 player without de mp3 pro codecs. Is compatible but you don't get the real quality) I suppose  it's because both applications use different aac decoding algorithms  . What could I do?

Merry Christmas

PS: I think this is a good clue: Even the visual effects in iTunes are not afected by the sound when I play an mp4

Try renaming the file to .m4a
edit: And make sure you're using iTunes 4.2

Nope, I think there was some "high quality" option you had to set in QuickTime (iTunes uses QuickTime for MP4 playback). Renaming to .m4a should also solve this, as iTunes plays .m4a itself.
