Updates in OGM?

Thinking of the news topic more than a year ago, does anybody know what the developer of ogm, Tobias Waldvogel is doing? He was supposed to join Xiph, but since then there has been no update to his Ogm DS filters.

Sorry if I'm completely uninformed.

Regards,

Emanuel

Yes, I think there were no new updates since over a year.
But there is no more need for OGM since the new opensource container MKV (Matroska) is final. Matroska supports a lot more formats (also AAC(+)) and has less bugs than ogm.

whenever the subtext filter is enabled the picture goes like this

Code: [Select]
--------   -------
       |   |
  right|   |left
--------   -------

without subs in the file or subtectfilter installed its playbacks with no torubles..jsut without subs

sven_Bent, I assume you are using embedded subs in OGM?  Please specify as it is important.  In any case please open up in graphedit and tell us what exactly you see.

IIRC the source for the newest version of the OggDS filters was lost. You can download the 0.9.9.2 source from xiph.org's cvs repository, in the oggds module, and the 0.9.9.5 binaries from Tobias's website.

Is CoreVorbis a partial fork of Tobias's code?

Corevorbis is not at all from Tobias' project it was made by the matroska team since they found out that the vorbis decoder had some lagging issues IIRC so they made a new decoder which works very well.  BTW 0.9.9.6 has source code available but it is based on 0.9.9.2.

Eh?

as bonzi stated thats not including the changes nic made, but is the version of mgerald

also corevorbis is not that much related to OGM, as corevorbis is simply a vorbis decoder, whereas the OGM project is mainly an ogg dshow splitter/muxer able to handle mpeg-4 and other stuff in ogg (which than is labelled as .ogm)

Just for the records, CoreVorbis was made by Toff, who is primarily a TCMP dev member, so its probably wrong to assimilate him into the matroska team  ..... although there can be no doubt that he is one of the most precious matroska contributors we ever had  ....
