I use the following:

Gym and Commute - mp3 player with Sennheiser MX500

Long Commute - mp3 player with Grado SR-60s

The Grados do leak a lot of sound to the outside, so your fellow passengers wouldn't be happy...

My brother has the new foldable Sennheiser's and he likes them - haven't heard them myself.

I'm another happy user of the cheap but very impressive Sennheiser MX-500's, great treble and good bass response for bud's!

Koss Porta Pro. Very efficient. Very light. Site tight on a head. Excellent bass response. No 'headphone fatigue'. Koss also have excellent warranty policy on these cans. If anything breaks, they replace them, no questions ask. No time limits.

I pair my SlimX with my Ety ER-4Ps.  Kickass sound and isolation!

I use the Sony behind the ear ones for $20, since they're the best for running and playing hockey in gym and all, they never fall off and for school in general, and a pair of Aiwas for when I'm sitting down, sometimes just walking, and stuff(these things rule).

I use the sonys way more, much so since my friends think I look like a @$$hole walking around with these huge headphones on my head , and I do, but they're comfy and they stay on when I wear them so that the top of them leans on my neck while on my ears so I don't care. The Sonys are good enough, I have a tolerance level with headphones. The freebies that came with this panasonic are pathetic and I would never use, the Sonys are great, and the Aiwas sound completely perfect.

I'm using Sennheiser MX500, great sound compare to Sxxx brand.

hey all. first post

i use a few different headphones. when out and about - my senn MX500s or sony E888sp's do the trick.

at home - AKG K270S with musical fidelity X-Cans V2

all the above do wonders with my slimX, sony memstick player, or home hi-fi setup. the akg's - while some people arent a fan of the "akg flat response" - are incredible... go visit your local hi-fi joint and demand a listen.

just my $0.02

ciao

I use Sony MDR ED228 earbuds.  I don't think they're sold anymore, as I was looking for specs on them and can't find much of anything on the internet except a few semi-related references to them (I don't even remember where I bought them).  They are the best sounding earbuds I've heard, by far (having tried about a dozen different models).  They are the only ones I've tried with which I can actually hear the *deep* bass note on Crystal Method's High Roller, as well as differentiate the two-note bass drop on Telepopmusik's Da Hoola and BT's Revolution...all unheard-of feats compared to other earbuds I've experienced.

They also fit very well in my ears and are very comfortable.  They don't fall out or even move around like regular earbuds do.

Sensitivity is a little better than average, high frequency reproduction is decent, but the bass response is what really sets them apart from the others I've tried.

I'm using The Plugs by Koss, and they are great buds...
For spare, I have some crappy plugs by Philips (the ones that came with my Expanium 101)

For home listening, I have Philips's SBC-HP 800 -closed speakers.

On Head-Fi, we refer to the Sony Vx00 series as V-Crap. Go to the Head-Fi forums and ask how you can redeem yourself.

I'm not a big fan of earphones but the Sony MDR-EX71 set is the sole exception. These earphones sound great, feel comfortable, and don't cost a fortune either. Some forum members at head-fi.org may unjustifiably criticize them, but my experience with the MDR-EX71's has been nothing but positive.

For my portable MP3 player -- Koss KTX-Pro.  From what I understand, the drivers are similar (perhaps identical) to the Porta/Sportas, but the headphones themselves have a cheaper build quality.  Nice sound, bass-heavy but very listenable.  May have been discontinued recently.

I don't see why you think the headphone supremes at head-fi "unjustifiably criticize" the MDR-EX71's  when they have all provided elaborate justifications, and the majority of the head-fiers have absolutely no reservations in criticising unworthy headphones. Perhaps you may want to use the "search" function and see those justifications for yourself. I am sure you would agree with the general sentiment there that you can easily find a better pair of headphones. Btw, I own a pair of MDR-EX71's and I am not a big fan either. I would prefer the cheaper Koss KSC-35 or Senn MX500 anyday, and for higher end models, Senn HD-600 (with modded cable) is my clear choice.
